Synopsis

Nikita, a young woman, is travelling in an air-conditioned train compartment. During the overnight journey, there is only one other passenger, Shashwat. Nikita is uncomfortable because the coach has curtains across each berth and across the aisle, which creates an atmosphere of cosy privacy. The coach attendant, Pande, who checks in on them every now and then, is making things worse by assuming that they are a couple. Shashwat horrifies Nikita by changing into his sleeping clothes right in front of her, in the curtained compartment. Nikita objects to Shashwat’s position as he sleeps because she thinks he is watching her as he sleeps. She makes him change berths. After some bickering, Shashwat decides to go off and seek another berth in some other compartment. Nikita objects to his leaving too, for she doesn’t want to deal with other unknown passengers on an overnight journey. He gives in and they ultimately make some kind of peace.
