Synopsis

The play revolves around the story of the inhabitants of Drongiri mountain; the mountain that Hanuman trans-located to save Laxman, during the battle of Lanka. Post the war, amidst abhorrent living conditions in Lanka, caused by the plunder and loot that Ram's army has inflicted on Lanka, Jambvant and his publicist are creating the state approved narrative around the war. The play begins at a time when Hanuman Jayanti is approaching and festivities are being planned in Lanka by Nal and Neel. Mai, who is an inhabitant of Drongiri, and whose sole ambition in life is Death of Hanuman, is also taking part in the festivities.Mai berates Hanuman in public during these festivities which leads to her getting assaulted by the enforcers from the state. Jambvant acts upon this incident by passing a law which requires the inhabitants to prove their qualification and in-turn the right to be residents of the Lankan land. Simultaneous to this Mai's son Chottu is looking for a power which eliminates every struggle from one's life. As Diwali approaches another set of festivities are planned, but no one knows what Mai has in store for everyone. The play tries to ask if mass migration is older than we currently know? If state and media will continue to mislead people? If a war ends with acknowledgement of a side winning and another loosing? Does the victor detest the vanquished only up-til victory is achieved? Will we ever know only the victor's narrative?
