The five plays in Volume 2 of this collection expose the cracks in our systems—and what better way to put the spotlight on them than through humour, irony, and hard truths. What appealed to me about this collection was how the playwrights have used humor and storytelling as a tool to reclaim truth.
These plays are at once entertaining and unsettling. The absurdity of how the systems can be twisted is scary. We find ourselves laughing and suddenly we are confronted with uncomfortable realities of our justice system and our freedoms.
These works remind us that sometimes the sharpest critique hides behind a joke—and it’s up to us to how we act on it.
