Amrapali is the tale of a courtesan's journey from being the state's bride to relinquishing all worldly possessions to become a disciple of Buddha. This one-person play has been written by V. Balakrishnan, using Vaishali Ki Nagarvadhu by Acharya Chatursen and Amrapali by Vimala Raina as main sources of inspiration.
